President

Salvatore Scarpelli

 

Salvatore Scarpelli is a lifelong resident of Nutley.  A 2004 graduate of Nutley High School, he continued his studies at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science and Minor in Music. Salvatore is currently a CompTIA A+ Certified IT Technician in the Township of Nutley’s Office of Information Technology and also serves as the graphic designer for the various municipal departments.  He also holds his W-2 Water Distribution License from the NJDEP and is the Assistant Water Operator for the Township.

 

An advocate for music education, Salvatore is currently serving his fifth term as the President of the Nutley Music Boosters Association, previously serving as Corresponding and Recording Secretaries and has been involved with that organization since 2005. Other community service activities include the Scarpelli Civic Association, the Township’s Go Green Committee and Co-Manager of the Nutley Farmers Market.  He is also the 2017 recipient of the Nutley Jaycees Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Young Man and named Renaissance Man of the Year in 2019 by the Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade Committee.  Most recently in June 2022 he was honored with the prestigious NJ State Governor's Jefferson Award in Education for his work with Nutley Music Boosters.  Salvatore is the son of Mayor Dr. Joseph and Suzanne Scarpelli.
